PrestaShop backups

Encrypted backups and restores for PrestaShop stores

The module compresses and encrypts the store's database and files on the server, then uploads them to storage. A restore puts data and files back without disconnecting the store.

The problem

A store's database changes all the time.

Orders, carts and customers arrive every hour. A backup that blocks the server or stops halfway on shared hosting is no use.

And a restore that also rolls back the backup module's settings leaves the store disconnected right when you need it.

How it works

In small steps, encrypted on the server.

  1. 1

    Short steps

The work is split into steps of a few seconds, fit for shared hosting.

  2. 2

    Encryption

AES-256 with a different key for each backup, before the upload.

  3. 3

    Restore

The module's configuration, enabled state and hooks are saved before the table swap and put back after it.

In detail

In detail.

  • Tested on PrestaShop 1.7.6 to 9.2, with PHP 7.1 to 8.5
  • app/config/parameters.php stays as it is now, unless you choose otherwise
  • The profile without uploads skips img, upload and download
  • Restores also with the offline file, when the store no longer responds

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the store go into maintenance during the backup?

No, the backup reads the database and files while the store runs. A restore swaps the tables at the end, all together.

Can I restore only the files?

Yes, database and files are chosen separately.

Try it on your clients' sites.

During the beta we let in a few agencies at a time and set up the first sites with you.
